Well, I can’t really say much about it, since I didn’t do it. However, Seamus is having his first ever week away at camp, and Patrick said that he seemed ready and was happy to get settled. We’ve seen a few pictures from camp, and it looks like he’s been having fun: kayaking, swimming, hanging out with his cabin mates. We’ve written him some letters, but we’re trying not to inundate him since he’s a private kid and would be embarrassed by too much attention.
In the meantime, Gilbert’s been enjoying baseball camp at the high school with the high school players. He’s got a few friends in camp, but he’s been excited to just get to play the game. Gilbert has been begging to play baseball for several years now, and it’s really hard to say yes, because I hear that practices and games can be long. And he’s good at and enjoys soccer, so why mess with a good thing?
Porter and Harlan have been at camp as well, and they’ve been learning new songs, doing some painting, and seeing shows like the Great Zucchini. They laugh and laugh, but Harlan has has a difficult time getting dropped off. Once he settled down, Porter had a hard time. Can’t win. But I get to go to yoga in the morning, and Patrick drops them off, and that’s a good thing.
We’ve finally gotten into a swimming groove! I bought the kids some new pool toys, as we have worn out or lost all the others.
It was a little cold on Sunday for swimming, but yesterday was perfect! And I tried to make sauerkraut. I’ll let you know if it turns out.
