Seamus is six months old today! He’s delightful. Sitting up, playing with toys, sneakily getting into the entertainment unit cabinets and pulling out DVD boxes (they make fun sounds when he bangs on them). He’s up on all fours and rocking but hasn’t figured out movement from that position yet. He smiles and laughs when we play peekaboo or when I make an interesting noise repeatedly. What a difference from our status at six days!
He’s started eating some food: rice cereal, butternut squash, banana. He certainly enjoys himself and will be a good eater of everything if his dad and grandaddy have anything to say about it.
We (and everyone else with a baby in a 20 mile radius) went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. Best moment: realizing that everyone I knew that we ran into were people hanging out in the Bier Garden, whereas all of X’s mom’s friends were engaged in more wholesome pumpkin patch activities. It’s telling that Patrick and X’s dad didn’t run into anyone they knew, it being an organic pumpkin patch and all. So University and National Labs crowd. Makes me feel a little elitist.
Seamus and X are starting to take more interest in each other. Or at least each others’ toys!
Happy Half Birthday Seamus!
